Don't let this press photo fool you, the Z brothers (and drummer) of the band ZO2, are very funny. Not because of the way they look, but because of their brilliantly semi-scripted show on IFC. It is equal parts Flight of the Conchords and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Hopefully that won't turn anyone off, especially the Sunny aspect, but these characters aren't despicable like Sunny. They are very lovable like the Conchords. But unlike the Conchords, these guys aren't struggling so much as they are having an identity crisis.
By night, the brothers and drummer, are a Brooklyn band called, ZO2 (like CO2, but better), an awesome (in their eyes) rock band in the vein of Kiss, Led Zeppelin, etc.. By day, they are the children's rock group, The Z Brothers, an awesome, uhm, rock band in the vein of, uh, Yo Gabba Gabba or the Teletubbies? Their conflict arise from the fact that they are, or could be, very successful as a children's group, but ultimately are a rock band living the rock life. They want to make it on their rock chops, not their mom chops, even though they get to make it with some moms along the way.
Also, like the Conchords, they have a manager, but she is actually competent, all the while still being ...
